About the event
In 2023, Travis Lucas, or PT (short for Pastor Travis), had this cool idea to kick off a tradition every January 1st with a polar plunge in my pool. I told him he and anyone he could get onboard were more than welcome to use the pool, but I wasn't planning on jumping into freezing water myself, lol. Unfortunately, on December 28, 2023, Travis unexpectedly passed away, leaving this tradition unstarted. Some folks who knew about his idea decided to keep it going every year in his honor, making the plunge a way to remember him.
In the first year, 2023, we had 17 participants, and in the second year, 2024, 42 people took the plunge! This truly speaks to who Travis was and the lasting impression he made on those who knew him.
We will meet in my detached garage which will be heated prior to the plunge and…
